Our story
Made with intention, shared with love
Cotton Seed Quilting Company is a small shop in Paris, TN, built around the belief that quilting can be one of the most enjoyable things a person can do.
How it started
Cotton Seed began in a spare bedroom with a sewing machine, a stack of fabric, and a stubborn refusal to let the old ways disappear. What started as a personal obsession with traditional quilt patterns grew into a shop, a classroom, and eventually a gathering place for makers of all kinds.
We opened our doors in Paris because this community deserved a place to slow down, create, connect and belong. Every bolt of fabric we carry, every class we teach, and every customer we welcome is part of that original intention.
We're not a big-box craft store. We're a shop where the person behind the counter remembers not only you, but also what you're working on, and will happily spend twenty minutes helping you find the perfect backing fabric.
What we stand for
Craft over convenience
We believe the slow, careful work of making something by hand has value that can't be replicated. We're here to support that work, not rush it.
Community first
Our shop is a gathering place. Whether you're a beginner or a lifelong quilter, you belong here. We make room for everyone at the table.
Quality product selection
We carry fabrics and supplies we love and use ourselves.
Passing it on
Quilting is a tradition worth preserving. Our classes exist to make sure these skills don't disappear — and to give new makers a place to start.
A place to belong
Our shop hosts open sew nights, seasonal workshops, and community quilting circles throughout the year. Whether you come in for a yard of fabric or stay for an afternoon, you'll always find good company here.
The team
The Cotton Seed Team
We're a small, passionate team of quilters, teachers, and fabric lovers based in Paris, TN. Between us we've made hundreds of quilts, taught thousands of students, and drunk an unreasonable amount of coffee in the name of good craft.
